Welcome to the
ESP Mail Check
Home Page

Here is where you can download the latest version of Extremely Simple Pop Mail Check.  ESP Mail Check is a small automatic email checking utility designed for Windows 95 that runs in the background and notifies you when you have new mail.

The current version of ESP Mail Check is 1.02, released October 14, 1997.  Download options:
  • espmc.zip  (zipped setup, filesize: 297 kb)
  • espmc.exe  (self-installing executable, filesize: 662 kb)
Some features and options of ESP Mail check include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Extremely simple setup - fill in only one dialog box to start checking for new email.
  • Designed to take up minimal system resources so that you don't have to constantly run your memory hungry email reader program to simply check for new mail.
  • Monitors your email invisibly in the background (displays an icon in the system tray) and notifies you when you have new messages.
  • Displays an numberd icon in the system tray representing the actual number of new messages that you have.
  • Multiple configurable notification methods including sound, visual, and automatic program launch.
  • Double clicking on the icon in the system tray launches your email program.
  • When automatic program launch is on, ESP Mail Check can send any keys (configured by the user) to the application as if typed on the keyboard.  (e.g. It can launch your email reader when a new message arrives and send the 'keys' to the reader that you would usually type to select download new mail.)
  • Features full Install/Uninstall options.
ESP Mail Check is Freeware - All I ask is that you would send me email telling me how you like the program and what improvements that you would like to see.   Please send suggestions/comments/bug-reports to the address below.
